Mandatory Licence

All new firearm owners must hold a current Firearm Safety Course Certificate to be licensed by Queensland Police

TAILORED COURSES

That demonstrates the knowledge of firearm legislation and the safe use of firearm within the community

One-on-One Training

Accredited trainers with Cert IV in Training and Assessment, Firearm Instructor license, First Aid and Blue Card

FIREARM SAFETY COURSE

It is a requirement by Queensland Police that a potential Queensland Firearm License applicant must successfully complete the approved accredited Firearm Safety Course (11029NAT) in the specific category of firearm for which the Firearm License will be sought. This Firearm Safety course must be delivered by a registered training organisation (RTO)

As an RTO Site n Scope Training Pty Ltd (RTO Code 45745) is supplying Firearm Safety courses in all Categories check out course schedule. If there is no course scheduled for the category that is required, arrangements can be made just contact SnS via the contact form.

All students receiving training from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) must apply for a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

You cannot receive a State of Attainment until you can supply USI to Site n Scope Training

A Statement of Attainment valid for 12 months only, will be issued to the applicant after successfully completing the Firearms Safety Course showing the applicant been assessed and found competent in the Categories of firearms sought in the Firearm License application.

Are you eligible?

To apply for a Firearm License the applicant must be:

18 years of age or over
- 11 to 17 years of age can apply for a Minor’s License
a resident of Queensland
a Fit and Proper Person
Have not, within the past five years, be convicted of a disqualifying offense including misuse of drugs, misuse of weapons, the use or threatened use of violence, or been the subject of a domestic violence protection order
Have a genuine reason for a license
Can demonstrate appropriate training in the safe use of firearms; and
Have access to secure storage.
